Job Summary
Volume 1 Climbing located in East Grinstead, West Sussex is seeking a passionate and experienced Centre Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our climbing facility. Reporting directly to the Directors, this key role will play a crucial part in achieving our mission to provide an inclusive and accessible climbing experience for all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of centre operations, including staff scheduling, customer service, and facility maintenance.
- Develop and implement staff training programs, conduct performance reviews, and foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction by proactively addressing customer feedback and resolving any issues promptly.
- Manage all aspects of centre safety and compliance, including conducting risk assessments, implementing safety protocols, and coordinating with external contractors.
- Drive business growth by exploring and implementing new revenue streams, such as corporate events, memberships, and partnerships.
- Manage and monitor departmental budgets, including café, route setting, and other operational expenses.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new initiatives and policies to improve efficiency and enhance the customer experience.
- Actively participate in the recruitment and selection process for all centre staff.
Essential Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of management experience within the climbing, leisure, or sports industry.
- Excellent customer service skills and a strong ability to build rapport with customers and staff.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Passion for climbing and a strong commitment to the company's values
Desired Skills:
- RCI/CWI Qualifications or higher.
- Safeguarding experience.
- Experience with marketing and event planning.
- Data analysis and reporting skills.
