We're looking for an experienced ROUTESETTER to join our dynamic setting team.

THE ROLE:
As our routesetter you'll have access to an awesome range of modern climbing holds, macros and volumes. You will also be given chances to develop your setting during comp wall and one night only sets. Key duties include setting and stripping for both of our Bouldering areas, as well as our (soon to be built!) extensive Roped Climbing gym as the facilities come on board in late Spring 2025. 

270 Climbing Park is a brand-new centre to the UK climbing scene. Equipped with a purpose-built facility, a modern selection of grips, and great routesetting, we aim to provide a space to welcome new, developing and experienced climbers.

Our passion stems from our love for community, climbing and challenging ourselves. Routesetting is an integral part of any centre; with over 200 boulders, 100 lead lines and IFSC standard comp wall, having a skilled, psyched and experienced team is valuable.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The exciting stuff

• Stripping and washing holds
• Routesetting, both boulder, top rope and lead
• Organising and tidying the hold store
• Equipment checks
• Involvement in the continual development of our routesetting operations

Not as exciting, but equally important, stuff

• To undertake any other duties as reasonably required within your competency.
• To adhere to all policies and procedures.
• To undertake any training and development activities at the request of your line manager, as required.
• To always take care of your own safety and the safety of others by complying with the H&S Policy at all times.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Essential

• Be able to climb/set up to V8 / Sport 7b+
• Have minimum two years setting experience
• Have competent boulder and rope setting skills (RSD qualification preferred)
• Be able to work as a team, setting for the benefit of the centre, not themself
• Have an understanding of safe routesetting standards

Desired

• Experience setting on a cherry picker
• Experience climbing abroad
