City Bouldering is a fast growing passionate climbing centre operator currently with three sites located at Aldgate (East London), White City (West London) and Stratford (East London).

The Role:

We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Marketing Manager to lead our marketing strategy. This role involves developing and executing marketing campaigns, overseeing brand positioning, and driving customer engagement. The ideal candidate will have experience in digital marketing, campaign management, and team leadership.

You may be required to work weekends/public and school holidays as and when required. Your normal working hours will be 9:00-17:00, but may need to be flexible. Minimum 40 hours per week, negotiable.

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

 

1. Marketing Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with business goals
  • Plan and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns to drive brand awareness and customer acquisition
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and customer needs
  • Set marketing goals and KPIs, tracking performance to optimize strategies
  • Assisting in organising, managing and facilitating events

2. Brand & Content Management

  • Oversee brand positioning and messaging consistency across all marketing materials
  • Lead content creation for websites, social media, Google webpages, LinkedIn Profile, email campaigns, and advertising
  • Maintaining and managing the company’s website
  • Assist in creating and scheduling social media posts across multiple platforms i.e. Meta, Instagram, Whatsapp, Tik-tok
  • Write blog posts, newsletters, and other marketing content
  • Manage partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations to enhance brand visibility

3. Digital Marketing & Advertising

  • Oversee SEO, PPC, email marketing, and social media strategies
  • Optimize website content and user experience for better conversion rates
  • Analyse website and marketing data and campaign performance using tools like Google Analytics
  • Manage and optimise ad spend across platforms for maximum ROI
  • Coordinate promotional events, product launches, and partnerships
  • Design and edit marketing materials such as posters, leaflets, presentations, and customer email templates

4. Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and manage a team of designers, and content creators
  • Coordinate with sales, product, and leadership teams to align marketing efforts
  • Work with external agencies, vendors, sponsors and designers, influencers to enhance marketing impact

5. Budgeting & Performance Analysis

  • Develop and manage marketing budgets, ensuring cost-effective spending
  • Track and report on campaign performance, ROI, and key marketing metrics
  • Adjust strategies based on data-driven insights and market trends

Qualifications & Skills Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, with a proven track record in campaign execution
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing, content creation, and brand management
  • Proficiency in marketing tools (Google Analytics, SEO tools, CRM software, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, leadership, and project management skills
  • Creative mindset with the ability to analyse data and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Ability to work autonomously and excels in being in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong problem solving & decision making
  • Good interpersonal skills at all levels and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Fun, passionate, positive and proactive attitude

Experience:

Work experience within the climbing industry or someone who is passionate about climbing is desired but not essential. This person must be keen to develop their marketing skills with an emphasis on personal growth, and is passionate and self driven. Proficient experience in using Meta and design platforms would be advantageous, and looking to expand their career in the industry would be preferred. Experience working in a small team or in a fast-paced reactive environment within the leisure and hospitality industry would also be beneficial.
