THE ROLE 

We're seeking an experienced & enthusiastic climbing instructor to teach, motivate & inspire climbers of all levels & abilities. You'll be guiding climbers of all backgrounds, helping to foster a fun, safe, & positive environment, as well as running regular children's sessions in the evenings. 

This is a part-time position with variable hours and requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays. 

Minimum hours will be approximately 25-30hrs/month with the opportunity for extra hours.

PAY STRUCTURE 

• £13.85 p/h – starting rate for instructors with a CWI and minimal teaching experience

• £17.20 p/h – for instructors with higher qualifications (e.g. CWDI/RCI) or relevant experience

• Up to £20.31 p/h – following a successful probation period

*Holiday pay is accrued at 12.07% per every hour worked for pay rates stated above.

* Instructors starting on the CWI rate will move up to £17.20 p/h after a successful probation.

CORE DUTIES 

  • Provide quality instruction and learning experiences that help each student meet the objectives of the course in a fun, enthusiastic, and safe environment;
  • Be punctual, prepared and ready to work at the times agreed upon by you and the Courses Manager;
  • Knowledge of health and safety within a climbing environment and the Castle Climbing Centre and strong commitment to highest standard of health and safety;
  • Must consistently adopt industry best practice throughout;
  • Responsible for the use of climbing equipment, including pre-use checks of equipment, checking in equipment after courses, utilise the equipment provided correctly and safely at all times, and in accordance with Castle Health and Safety Policy and manufacturers' instructions;
