Rab Carrington, one of Britain's foremost mountaineers spent much of the 1970s on ground breaking expeditions around the world and in doing so gained the best education possible in understanding exactly what climbers needed from their kit.

In 1981 Rab Carrington set up a small company in Sheffield making specialist down sleeping bags and clothing for climbers - pushing the boundaries of what was achievable at that time. Since then the company has evolved and Rab himself has retired to pursue other projects.

There have been many changes in these 30 years but the company's vision remains the same as Rab's when he first started the company. They are still a group of outdoor people working hard developing, designing and making gear that's fit for use in the most extreme conditions in the world!
