Marmot London Flagship Store

Spring 2012 will see outdoor manufacturer Marmot launch its second European flagship store at the Westfield Stratford City shopping centre. Situated to the North East of London, the centre is a key retail location as a result of its scale, exceptional public transport links, and fantastic position adjacent to the London Olympic Park. The Marmot store will be on “The Street”, an outdoor boulevard that is one of the main access routes through the centre site, and the gateway to the Olympic Games in 2012.

Marmot Logo Andy Schimeck, Managing Director of Marmot Mountain Europe, comments on the new London store: “The UK is one of our key territories and to support Marmot's strategic brand development we identified Stratford as a prime site for a flagship store. With the Olympics taking place this year, this is an exciting opportunity for us to showcase the depth and breadth of the collection and illustrate Marmot's brand values in what will surely be one of the most visited and high profile locations in the World in 2012.”

Selected locations for Marmot flagship and partnership stores

In October 2011, Marmot opened its first European flagship store in Nuremberg, Germany. One month later, Marmot's first European partnership store was opened in Bolzano / Italy. In addition to the new London Store, a partnership store in the climbing and outdoor destination of Finale Ligure (Italy) will also open in spring 2012. For the future, Marmot is planning to open a selected number of flagship and partnership stores in strategically important locations across Europe.

Marmot Collection on Display

All areas of the Marmot collection will be represented over the 160 square meter store. This will include men's and women's technical mountain styles, in-depth multi-sport offering, sportswear, urban tech styles, complete children's line, and highlights from the extensive equipment and accessory range.

Limited Edition Charity Shirts – Revenue will be donated to charitable organizations

To coincide with the opening event, Marmot will launch a limited edition Marmot Store London Shirt. These 100% organic cotton t-shirts for men, women and children will only be available in-store and a proportion of the revenue from their sales will be donated to regional charitable organizations.

Stunning and Sustainable In-store Environment

Marmot's new store will have a visually arresting design guaranteed to catch people's attention and encourage them to visit. At the same time it will be fitted out where possible using locally sourced and environmentally friendly materials to reflect the brand's focus on sustainability and the natural world.

Opening Date

The official opening date and schedule of events will be announced nearer the time, and will feature attractions for mountain sports fans, and other visitors to the centre. Marmot PRO athletes will be guests on the day, and “come and try it” activities will be available to all.

Pretty cool! Marmot make a lot of really good kit and it's nice to see them getting exposure in the UK. Hopefully half the shop will be DriClime shirts and then everyone will realise how phenomenal they are!

Yes, but those of us who live down this way need to entertain our desire for climbing substitutes and there's not a whole lot of competition.
