Executive Officer Post for the Association of British Climbing Walls Training Trust

The ABCTT is a limited company and registered charity that administers the NICAS scheme and is currently developing the new NIBAS (bouldering) scheme. Its aims are to promote education and training in climbing and it has ambitious plans to provide the structure for high standard grass roots coaching in the sport. The NICAS scheme has registered over 55,000 young people for coaching since its inception in 2008.

The Board of Trustees seeks to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Executive Officer to head the management and development of the Trust's activities from the beginning of 2014. The successful candidate will have an excellent knowledge of the indoor climbing industry and coaching profession. They will bring strategic vision to the post along with excellent communication skills, business acumen and proven management experience. They will be responsible for the management of the Trust's officers and for liaising and negotiating with stakeholder organisations.

The initial contract will be for 1 day per week (0.2) on a pro rata salary of £40,000. The post is funded by Sports England and will initially be for 3 years. Under Board review against targets set by Sport England these hours may be increased and the tenure extended.
