On the 22 March we will be holding our Grand Day In, this will be a fantastic mixture of competitions, coaching from top athletes, product demos and overall fun at Kendal Wall. This event, the athletes and prizes will be supported by our sponsors, La Sportiva, Petzl, Marmot and Beal.

First of all we will be having FREE coaching from some of the UK’s top rock jocks (and jockeses), these have kindly been supplied by our sponsors of the day – La Sportiva, Marmot, Petzl and Beal

Steve McClure  and Neil Mawson will be taking on those that want to improve their leading standards and who better to show you than two climbers that have climbed 9a and beyond!

Leah Crane will be holding her well received dynamic workshop. This doesn’t just mean double handed dynos but efficiency of movement, coordination, timing and precision. This will be bouldering bases but suitable all climbing.

Neil Gresham will be taking a ‘Power Workshop’ for those of you that already have the technique of movement but just want to get plain stronger, then Neil’s your man  and having recently completed his 8c project in Spain, he’ll have lots of pointers for you to achieve you own personal goals.

All these coaching courses will be free of charge (apart from standard entry to the wall) and therefore limited in number, so it will be on a first come first served basis. Please call us 01539 721766 or email infor@kendalwall.co.uk

The day will start with the Marmot Masters bouldering competition, this will be a stand alone competition with fantastic first prizes of Marmot down jackets for the three main categories – ideal for those cold crisp days out bouldering. The points from this competition will be added to those of the previous competitions for the series winners

The La Sportiva leading ladder will also culminate with the final routes to be climbed on the day – the winners from each category will receive a pair of La Sportiva rock shoes.

On the King Kong wall there will be a speed climbing route for you to see how fast you can climb the 18 metres

Our big event on the day will a one route leading competition. Steve McClure will set and demonstrate a route of increasing difficulty up the main wall, then it will be the turn of all the competitors to see how high they can get.  The winner will walk away with a cash prize of £300, 2nd £150 and 3rd  £50.  We expect a great spectacle for this event with lots of power screaming!

The day will be rounded off with prize giving, a lecture from Neil Gresham and possible a trip to the local for a beer or two.
