VauxWall is a facility of The Lakeland Climbing Centre Limited. We are driven by our passion for climbing and the positive effects it can bring to everyone’s lives. Our London facility set’s a new standard for accessible, clean and constantly evolving indoor climbing. In partnership with our customers, staff, sponsors and suppliers we have created and continue to develop a friendly, efficient and safety conscious centre of excellence for bouldering that everyone can enjoy. Strong links with our site in Kendal will provide opportunities for customers and staff to continue their journey into the diverse sport of climbing in the stunning Lake District National Park.

The Centre in Vauxhall opened in May 2014 and we are now looking for 3 staff members to join our team. Applicants should be experienced, diligent and passionate with a flexible and committed approach; all roles involve weekend and evening work. As a central London bouldering centre only 100m from a Zone 1 underground and national rail station the centre has rapidly grown into a busy hub for the London climbing scene. We have also introduced many new people to the sport and our aim is nurture beginners into passionate climbers that feel at home in VauxWall. We want to maintain a staff team who embraces our ethos, providing exceptional and efficient customer service. If this sounds like you the following positions are available:

1 Duty Manager (Part time 15-20hrs)

As part of a small multifunctional team the role of Duty Manager is central to the effective running of the Centre. You will be responsible for the provision of a safe, fun and welcoming climbing environment. When on duty you will directly manage the day to day operations including the reception, café and shop with additional responsibilities including instruction, cleaning and route setting.

This position will include a variety of shifts. Applicants should ensure they can get to the centre for 5.45am.

2 Team Members (Part time 15-20hrs)

Working with the Duty Manager and on your own initiative you are expected to provide an exceptional level of customer service in all centre operations. Beyond reception and cleaning, a significant part of this role will be instruction; delivering inductions, family sessions and junior clubs.
