DMM Job Vacancy: Quality Assurance Assistant, Recruitment Premier Post, 1 weeks @ GBP 75pw DMM is a company that designs, manufactures, markets and sells high quality equipment for use in climbing, mountaineering, tree care, working at height, rope access and rescue. Quality Assurance Assistant

The Role
The successful candidate will provide support and service to the Quality and Sewing Departments. You will need to be a team player within a small but busy department. It is essential that you are flexible, self-motivated, inquisitive and have a positive and proactive approach with the ability to facilitate problem-solving as part of our team.

Key Tasks

  • Work with the Quality Assurance & Sewing Department managers to help implement and improve sewing’s QC systems, processes, tooling and documentation
  • Help create supplier agreements and raw material specifications, communicate and work with suppliers, highlight problems, negotiate with suppliers in the event of and solve problems
  • Input into the content of batch control documents including batch cards, inspection checklists, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Quality Assurance Procedures (QAP’s)
  • Assist in the training of inspectors and operators
  • Familiarisation with the relevant standards pertinent to the business (BS, EN & ISO standards)
  • Carry out raw material, inter-stage and finished product testing
  • Goods inwards inspection: help set up and maintain goods inwards inspection for all delivered raw materials and products to DMM International (raw materials for sewing, PPE deliveries) including any testing required at goods inwards
  • Carry out internal audits
  • Undertake other appropriate duties when required to do so
  • Potential preparation/ground work on CEN technical files


Essential Skills

  • Quality Engineer/Professional - Previous experience working in a production quality/goods inwards role/quality admin role (5 years minimum)
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, able to work on own initiative, inquisitive
  • Inspection/measurements using a range of hand held equipment, test apparatus
  • Maintain records, review & react
  • Good, accurate, unambiguous record keeping
  • Computer literate, use of Syspro, document preparation and record keeping
  • An effective communicator (written & verbal)
  • A good team player
  • A ‘get the job done’ mentality
  • Good attention to detail


Desirable

  • Textile/PPE background
  • ISO 9001 Experience
