Having traded happily from our original location next to the public toilets, we are now pride of place on the key junction of the A5 and A4086, the gateway to Ogwen, Snowdon and Betws Y Coed.

The Premises was originally the home of the Capel Curig post office as the above Joe Browns advert shows when it was placed in Rocksport magazine in the autumn of 1970. Now, almost 50 years after Val & Joe opened their Capel shop it will take pride of place on the main road offering an increased range of camping gear to compliment the technical clothing and equipment we are famous for.

Funnily enough I asked them the very same question, and their reason for not opening a cafe was that there's a very good one down the road - the Siabod Cafe. If you haven't been there I'd highly recommend it!

Pinnacle Cafe was grim anyway, Siabod Cafe is much, much nicer.

Yup, won't miss Pinnacle cafe, As well as the Siabod Cafe, Bryn Glo at the Betwys end of Capel Curig does a pretty reliable breakfast.

Siabod cafe got a facelift and (presumably) new management a couple of years ago. It is very good.

They struggle with the concept of 'vegan' and sometimes lapse into cooking mushrooms in butter, but we're getting there! Nice cafe run by nice people.
