Rockfax Description
The centre of the drilled wall gives an odd pitch with worrying stretches to and from the ledge. Ingenious use of the various bore holes for protection can make it reasonably safe. © Rockfax

Not happy with the gear

robblowen 02/Jul/17 TR RP

Worked the moves a few times, definitely favours the tall, still potential to hit the ledge even with the right gear. Awesome move from the crimp to first ledge and up the flake/vertical shot to the 2nd ledge.

getting easier. No falls, ~3 rests

Got some beta on the gear and which bit of the ledge is good to pop for. First E4 flash.

great wee route, definitely suits the tall!

Seconded Mark before, had lots of gear for the pockets, great that you can stand at the bottom and work out what fits before you set off. If you are short of the crucial gear, just use large size rocks on wire bent in two, best use a mates as they get very bent

As a warm up, done In strong wind with 60-70mph blasts, 2 only climbers at whole Millstone! Used two tricams

Had previously been dropped a rope while standing on the ledge during a solo attempt. Probably E2 or so with gear that fits in the shotholes on the ledge.

Dan lead it, I seconded. Nice bouldery moves split with good rests on ledges.

End of the day and the other sun baked E5s looked pretty scary. Gear was better than I expected but the all out slap for the break was scary.

There is fun to be had putting gear in the shot holes, although don't use your largest stoker to shove the Hex's in.
