Rockfax Description
The fine arete is one of the unsung gems of Froggatt. A tough start leads up flakes then a hard move gains a break and gear. From here pull up to gain and enjoy the rounded finish. Classic. © Rockfax

Class, fell off the boulder problem loads, got first e4 jitters I guess, fell off once higher up as I faffed about for too long then did it next go, fantastic climbing

What a cracking route. had a few rests but all the moves felt OK with good gear and rests. What an incredible line! One of the best things I've tried, will be back next year for it on the right end of the rope!

Very tricky start up the arête. Got all the moves first gear seams a long way from the ground.

2nd go, had a bit of a mare first time round moving past the gear and got spooked. Serves me right for trying to warm up on an E4, I need to get some trad mileage in.

with Tom A
Teappleby 09/Apr/16 Lead G/U

Lesson from today 'do more trad'. Went second go, first go flashed up to the final moves but blew it as I rocked onto my foot and was toe dragging on a krab with the other foot, my thermal had got over my other hand....etc. Basically went tits up and took large inverting whip. Felt much better second go. In hindsight, it seems like all the moves were probably fine I was just a total spanner today!

James Oswald ?/Apr/16 Lead G/U

Fell off a couple of times at the break. Did with pre placed gear because I had no pad. One of my favourite routes on grit - great climbing with enough good gear.

with Alan saul
deacondeacon 20/Mar/16 Lead G/U

Jumped down from the first break last week as I was too pumped to place the gear lol. Went fine today. Really quality route that should see more attention. I belayed Mark on this last year (I think) and can't remember if I seconded him or not, but don't think so.

Dave Warburton 13/Mar/16 Lead G/U

Fell off from the vertical crack unexpectedly! Boo. Second go.

Will Hunt 13/Mar/16 2nd RP

Volunteered for the lead first. Didn't figure out the crux. Watched Dave do it and decided I didn't want to lead it anymore. Clean from the ground on second. Not as easy as it looks after the boulder problem.

Sam Marks 13/Mar/16 Lead G/U

Fell off the boulder problem start then got it, quality sustained climbing, one of the best peak e4s ive done

Brilliant climbing all the way - worth getting midged to buggery for. Hot and sweaty afternoon, which made the slopery grovel at the top a bit exciting. Had previously checked where the holds were though.

Got up to the first gear break and couldn't take a hand off to place gear. Retreated (jumped) rather than going higher. Superb route, one of the best i've been on!

A brilliant route which gives so much awesome and sustained climbing. First Grit E4. Very safe and totally enjoable if climbed in this fashion. Ground Up ascent with preplaced cams in Fisherman break from neighbouring HS above the bouldery start.
