Rockfax Description
A fantastic icy outing that is both bold and steep..
1) 4, 40m. Start just left of the toe of the buttress and climb stepped ice..
2) 6, 60m. Climb directly up the steep icefall. (Belay possible at half height). © Rockfax

Al Borrit decided that conditions were good enough - his steady lead gave me and Richie the luxury of enjoying the steep position - sensational

2nd pitch steep start on good but thin ice to a steep ramp. couple of good screws and tricky move around a bulge. good nuts on the left and steady head to the top. Magic

We had good ice all the way from the belay - think it would be a lot harder if it were mixed... The guidebook describes 'rickety flakes' which thankfully we didn't come across!
