See main page for route description..... Climb the classic summer scramble in winter conditions. The route comes into condition with a freeze and a fall of snow as nearly all placements are hooks on rock. The route is far superior to many much talked about Scottish grade II buttresses. The reality is it is worth 2 stars, but I have left it as 1 star as per the current guidebook.

PeteY 2 Feb Lead rpt Fantastic day out and first snowy ascent having done the Ridge a few times in summer. Deep powder made for an arduous approach and the climb was largely dry rock with snowy ledges. Axes and crampons not really necessary, but made for some added difficulty and good practice. Made hard work of the approach by coming in far too high. Not wanting to sacrifice the height we had a long traverse in to arrive at the foot of the route - at least saving us a snowy scree slog. Very busy route today with a solo climber up front, a rope team of 2 just before us and a team of 4 then 2 just behind. Made for a bit of a queue at the corner and some comedy crowded belay stances. All good fun and good company though! Shout out to the student team from Cambridge who let us climb through on the pinnacles after rescuing a stuck nut for them.
