Rockfax Description
Another moorland classic - varied, devious and interesting. Climb the steep wall to a ledge then the crack and bulges above. Step left to a thin crack, climb this and finish up the scary scooped wall above on sloping holds. . © Rockfax

βeta: bold at the start, hard in the middle, bold at the top. Georgous route, but hard for HVS.

mrphilipoldham 23 Jul, 2018 Lead O/S Ace! Had it on my to do list for quite a while and wasn’t too sure if today was the right day with it being quite sweaty and greasy. But the holds are all excellent and reasonable rests between the steep bits. Commitment on the top wall is repaid in jugs. Topped out to a gent and his two lads who couldn’t comprehend what we were up to. Top notch!

Wanderlust 19 May, 2018 Lead O/S My first E1 lead! Crux was probably convincing myself to get on it and try. A climb of 2 halves. Had to dump the right rope as the drag was too much once on the face. Forgot about the extenders and had the blinkers on I think! The wall above was great and over too soon. Good 2nd from Steve on the 1 remaining rope, facing a big swing at the tough bulge but he got a cheeky temporary cam in.

Droyd 24 May, 2017 Lead O/S Beautiful to look at and even better to climb. Made a total mess of the ropes by underestimating the leftwards traverse, but the climbing seemed relatively straightforward (if very intimidating) throughout - well protected too

Stuart Hurworth 26 Jul, 2014 2nd dnf Pretty hard moves off the ground over the first block, then comes the crack! I couldn't get up it - has excellent holds in the back of it, but then you get stuck without anything on the feet! I think once you have pulled yourself a bit higher and get into a layback position then its a goer. Gave it several attempts but couldn't get established. Looks like an excellent climb though - the leader placed about five bits of gear in the 'scary' top section!

Graeme Hammond 20 Jun, 2010 Lead O/S Absolutely brilliant!! The scrappy looking lower section actually has some very nice lay-back moves. The final wall ace but isn't nearly as rounded or scary as the guide makes out, there is even solid gear in it (well if I hadn't used it lower down).
