Rockfax Description
A classic aid route which is pretty straightforward with solid bolts. Climb the central pillar, then cross the roof bat-style, past a reachy section in the middle, to a lower-off on the lip. © Rockfax

βeta: The route is well bolted now, and there is a twin bolt lower off just just up from the lip. The aid is fairly straightforward, if a little reachy in the middle of the roof.

kermit_uk 27 May, 2017 Lead O/S First go at aid. Had watched a YouTube video of how to aid up slabby terrain. Made it up as I went had to remake both daisy chains whilst up there still 1hr 10mins ish really good fun and something I've wanted to do for ages. Good way to spend a rainy day!

David Coley 30 Apr, 2017 Lead O/S Not A2. Simple and safe A1. All gear in place. One can easily climb the route and lower off on a single 50m rope. Using adjustable daisies will help: clip a draw to the next bolt, clip the daisy/aider to top carabiner of the draw, yank in hard on the daisy, part release the previous daisy, yank and release once more. No clip stick needed unless you are under 5.6. Just pull in the daisy to its very shortest length, go completely horizontal on the long reaches, with one foot in an aider. You will get hot so minimise clothing. Enjoy.

Mark Collins 4 Jul, 2015 Lead O/S Thought there might be some placements to be made so took a bunch of gear up with me. I needn't have bothered though, as its a bolt ladder but reachy. Due in part to my extra gear on chest harness it proved back breaking work, so felt the need to employ a sling as an improvised lower out for the longest reaches, as I didn't think I'd be able to retrieve my aiders afterwards. Lovely brand new quick draws in situ across the roof definitely saved time, as little cleaning was required.
