Yet another very good problem - balance and power ... and suddenly the easy finish reveals itself. Watson gives this 7A in the latest guide - no chance! While, given the purity of the line, the best method is surprisingly un-obvious, once worked out this is pretty easy to repeat. This really is a remarkable boulder. However, the only line left to climb is undoubtedly too hard for me, so it will probably be a while before I return.... by which time it may have disappeared again into the regrowth of the forest. Sic transit gloria. Sic transit gloria #2: Today my dad was admitted into Murray Royal - I arrived to find him on the floor - not a fall, but by "choice" if that's the right word, he has taken to crawling and lying on the floor a lot in the last month - and helped him onto the sofa, then held his hand and his head as he fell asleep. As he slept I watched his face and felt a kind of peace, his head in my hand. Between agitation and exhaustion his life is pretty grim now, but I sense that this is a better place for him to be. The staff seem great - very professional doctor and senior nurse, and very affable and friendly orderlies.

Took a few sessions, awkward move to get round onto the face, all on slopers!
