UKC

The route was misplaced in the guidebook. It follows an obvious line left of Kellan Arete. Back in 1989 I climbed it on sight and remember placing a peg somewhere en route. It was quite wet at the time and the rock was jet black, hence the name. Unfortunately, when it dried out the rock became a dull brown/grey making a nonsense of my fancy name. Once you take note of the above, the description in the Dave Hope/Brian Wilkinson guidebook should make sense. I would suggest that in dry conditions the route would be easier than the grade I gave it.
