βeta: Getting to the island itself, was much more straightforward than I had anticipated given the Central Wales guidebook desciption. A good path leads down on the east side of the headland just 25m south of the abseil stake. - but I am assured that this is awful in the wet - we had it tinder dry. In calm seas, the crossing to the island would be possible for 3.5 hours either side of low water, giving up to seven hours on the island.
