Walk in was on bullet hard snow ice mainly which made for quick progress, 1.5 hours from gondola to base of the crag. Calf burning snow ice up to the base of the climb. We ended up going a bit far left at the start of the climb up a gully and some fun icy steps but quickly regained the ridge. Really fun climbing, plenty of exposure but nothing too technical. Bullet hard frozen turf and rock was rimed but still plenty of gear placements. We had a mixture of high winds, snow, cloud and then topped out in sunshine. Gondola down was shut due to wind but they very kindly sent our bags down without us. A lovely climb in what feels like a very remote setting (bonus points for the lack of walk in)

Busy day! Absolutely stunning, no clouds and no wind with alpine conditions of ice, dry rock, and good neve. Finished up with no gloves and just base layer. Turf well frozen but exposed in a lot of places. Took the path of most resistance with some direct and indirect steps to up the interest level.

Great views all day long, lifts should only be employed on alpine days! Last on the lift in the morning, first off the route, and still missed the gondola and suffered the walk of shame down the MTB track. Amazing route, we did a nice ice groove just right of what is probably the start proper. Some great climbing in the lower part, which eventually turns into a nice easy narrowing ridge. We swung leads all the way until easy ground after the ridge where we unroped and carried on to the summit. Fantastic day!

Generally good conditions, lots of powder on the approach and banked out lower buttresses. Once on the buttress itself the snow was firm. Not a huge amount of protection on the route, but then again it wasn't ever technically that hard either. Fantastic route.

Superb big day, cold but sunny. Start of route unclear to us; ice pitch at start of Easter Gully looked seductive, but that's another route. We went up the frozen turf near the next gully left to reach the point where the rib becomes rockier and better defined. (Footprints from a couple in Easter Gully came up to the same point, although they were apparently repulsed by the first difficulty there and returned to the gully). After that a good variety of slabs, cracks, frozen turf and the odd patch of solid neve banked up on the north side of things. Probably did about 5 proper pitches total, moved together on the rest. Just made it to the summit cairn as headtorches became necessary. Will be back for more in this part of the world for sure.

Managed to climb line of 'most interest' rather than 'least resistance' which made it more like IV in the conditions! Bailed in worsening weather from the pinnacles near the top, downclimbed the gulley on the left and were promptly avalanched at the bottom. Not an experience I'd like to repeat! =o(

KarlH 12/Mar/11 2nd dnf

Excellently led via the most 'interesting' route by Mr. K until the pinnacles where due to deteriorating weather we abbed into the gully on the left. We downclimbed this and traversed across the approach slopes below Golden Oldy where we were avalanched on from above. A sobering experience! By the time we made it back to the Nevis car park it had been a 17 and half hour day!
