Rockfax Description
Another superb climb - completely bolt-protected and on excellent solid rock. Ideal for a first multi-pitch climb. The original route ran slightly closer to the left arete, but it is now more common to follow the bolts up the centre of the face. It is possible to start on the left arete making a hand-traverse right, but most parties begin below the large roof immediately left of the right arete, as described here.
1) III+, 15m. Climb just left of the arete to a good stance directly below the large roof.
2) III-, 30m. Step out left under the roof then climb direct up the face, following excellent holds up a series of cracks to a stance in the middle of the face.
3) III, 20m. Continue direct again with excellent holds to reach a large belay just over the lip of the tower. © Rockfax

Shaded winter ascent in sub zero temperatures made it very difficult handling the rock.

Nice little route. Excellent ere-hanging abseil through the slot into the cave/gully between two pillars (only feasible if not a busy day!).

Easy route well bolted. No need for any trad gear.

We went right, along the new bolts. This felt entirely like an sports route (we didn't place any pro, unlike when we did the route to the left along the older bolts, which are more spaced out). Done in 2 pitches: Wei led P1, I led P2&3 as one pitch. Descend on the other side again.

Went to the left after the roof (line with older bolts). I led P1 and P3, Wei led P2. Hanging abseil on the other side, unlike what's recommended on the rockfax guide (busy face, you wouldn't be very popular abseiling down it)

Easy route, well bolted and good belay ledges. Took 3 new climbers up for there first multi pitch, great day despite only having one rope, 3 slings, a few rain showers and finishing with just one belay plate (because Dave dropped his on pitch 3). Also climbed it on sept 4th 2013 at night, made for a great night ascent and abseil onto the notch, then into the cave.
