The main spur, visible all the way down the Lairig Eilde. It's a fine route to the summit of Stob Coire Sgreamhach at the head of Beinn Fhada (the leftmost of the three sisters)

mcawle 7 Mar, 2018 AltLd Pretty well banked out. Had a route finding fail - went right at second outcrop instead of left. Definitely off route. Susan did a great job leading up a scrabbly turfy chimney, definitely harder than anything we've done so far. Looked easier from below... Rejoined the route at the crest about 50m before the narrow traverses and running very late at that point. No real runners or belays to speak of from the snow crest onwards, except a small direct belay spike on the last traverse. Headed straight down ridge in fading light. Wonderful view south. Walked out in the dark.

bonebag 11 Feb, 2018 Solo 300m (grade II, 3 stars) from Glen Coe. Climbed solo. From Glen Coe walk SW on the path beside the Allt Lairig Eilde to the foot of the broad ridge and gearing up point. Ascend from here to the first rock buttress on steep laden snow slopes. Moved round to its right to more steep snow and then followed a ramp back left to the top of the buttress. Continued from here as close to the ridge as possible for best climbing. Cross a narrow level section with steep drops to either side then another buttress. This was followed by a short narrow arete on soft collapsing snow climbed by straddling and then a short steep snow slope to the top of the climb via a corniced exit. Descended SE to a col at 741m for a descent E into the Lairig Eilde. Due to snow loading of this slope detoured SE towards Dalness and then down into the glen for the return N to the Lairig Eilde and then Glen Coe. This added 3h to the journey time. Ascent: ; Distance: 12km (7.5miles); Time: 10h (09.00 - 19.00h). Weather was overcast with cloud base down to about 700m at times with a strong/gale force W wind in the afternoon and blizzard conditions with white out on the 741m col. Temp 0 deg Glen Coe at start, -4 deg top of Sron na Lairig and -2 deg Glen Coe at end. Route done with Adam Underdown, Adam Palmer and Job.

laurence_falconer 18 Dec, 2012 Solo First winter 2 scramble. Was great fun and a beautiful clear day with stunning views of glen coe. Great introduction to winter climbing and would highly recomend it. We took ropes harnesses and gear but didnt use any of it due to perfect conditions and there being few exposed parts. Would maybe only take a rope and slings (for harnesses and gear) next time if the weather was worse to protect the exposed traverses

We were some way down the path when Mike realised he had left his axe somewhere up there so we headed back up in the dark. He went back up the gully whilst I sat half way up in the starlight surveying the scene. No axe found but I think even Mike would agree it was a good day.
