Long slog in and out, strong winds, poor visibility, white out requiring careful navigation off the summit, classic route packed with interest and atmosphere. Full Scottish winter experience - a brilliant day out!

Long slog in but well worth it.

Spectacular natural line. Narrows to a beautiful arete with good views on a bluebird day. Spice to be had on crest, especially upper section. All aboard to slogwarts express for the walk in though. Wonder if Lizzie has ever sent this one?

Circuit from Invercauld Bridge. Lovely atmospheric route with plenty of scope to make it harder than grade I if you want.

Pleasant day out and a great way to approach lochnagar. Plenty of scope to end up on harder variations.

Frozen lower down, powdercrud higher up, struggling to equate it to other grade I routes....maybe i took the adventure route...?! Bike in from Invercauld, best way off the hill any day!

A great winter scramble in a wild setting. Moved together

Nice wee route with plenty of snow about. A couple of steps maybe 1/2 which were nice.

Still some good sections of frozen snow. A couple of short sections were surprisingly tricky for a grade I.

Frozen turf/heather, and the odd bit of verglas. Snow a couple of inches to a foot deep, but dry powder not very helpful for upward progress.

Started up Shepherd's Warning, but there was too much powder, so traversed to this route.

Hoping to get on some of the other routes in the corrie but a very rapid thaw set in mid-morning. An enjoyable winter scramble - best if the harder variations are taken.

Walked in from old Invercauld bridge off A93 nr Braemar, superb conditions moved together and I led small pitch on ridge about two thirds hieght above a small gully in ridge, after that got easy and we just carried on moving together to the top, about an hour on the route in all, after that bagged summit of lochnagar via top of cac carn mor, then back tracked to second munro of the day carn a coire boidheach, then on to final munro carn an t-sagairt mor (left sack at bealach prior to ascent!) then picked up sack and walked out back to invercauld bridge long day 10 and a half hours. Bright sunshine all day no wind, snow conditions soft for walking made walking such a distance quite trying!

LONG walk in on soggy snow and bogs, brilliant sunny day, lovely little scramble topped off with munro. A couple of exposed areas, where a slip or fall could be disasterous. If in doubt, rope up on short exposed sections. Corrie was blootered in snow, couldn't even see stegosaurus rib!!!
