Restricted Access
Gate for Canto Cochino opens at 9 a.m. Once the gate is open follow the road through the forest to its end where there is a large car park and Bar. Gate closes at 10pm - Dont be late!!Also you should check seasonal bird bans, ask the rangers at the main entrance for Canto Ccochino (if they are there)
There is no restriction at the El Tranco car park, and no barrier - you can access all the park from here but its a longer walk!
Rockfax Description
A great outing.
1) 4b, 20m. Climb the slab, past three old bolts, to a belay on left end of a ledge.
2) 4b, 50m. Make a long and easy traverse left passing two good bolts to reach a flake. Move up this and then back up diagonally right to reach easy ground. There is an option to belay on the right, but you can carry on up and left to reach a belay shared with Camino.
3) 4a, 30m. Move left along the ledge to its end and climb up past a bolt to gain another breakline and another bolt. Traverse left along this to a belay at its far end.
4) 4a, 40m. Climb up the slab to gain a bolt below a break/roof. Move right through this and then head towards the summit and belay before a steepening.
5) 3a, 30m. Easy climbing leads to a turtle-shaped (La Tortuga) boulder on the far side of the summit. © Rockfax
