Rockfax Description
VF (1-2 hours) - The first section is steep straight away, giving you a good haul up onto easier ground. This is probably the most strenuous section. Then take an easy line up the gully moving right onto the side-wall. This goes up more steeply and trends left to eventually reach a ledge from where the zipwire sends you back across the wide gully. Once on the other side, an easy rib leads up and round to the V-bridge section. A climb up on the other side of this takes you to a great position on the top of a pinnacle by a notch. Drop down the other side to reach the double wire bridge. This is the most exposed crossing which takes you to the summit on the other side.
Descent (1 hour) - Follow the cables down the back of the pinnacle into an open gully. This leads back rightwards across the hillside to eventually reach a steep section. More staples here lead down to easier ground and an end of the cables. Follow the path to a water trough. From here, drop down across the ravine to the other side and follow a path across the hillside under some caves (do not try and go straight down the ravine to the railway bridge). Loop round to some wooden steps which take you back to the lower main road. There is a path by the chapel on this section which will take you back up to the Albercones parking if you have left your car there © Rockfax

βeta: 2nd previous comment is still OK after the recent rain. Recommend hiring via ferrata gear from la finca campsite very reasonable price, and all you ppl improvising with slings and carabs are just damaging the cable. Funny sign by the zip wire compelling you to clip the imaginery backup line ?

βeta: Did this a few days after the Nov 2024 storm and it is fine. The descent path was a bit washed out in places but no problem.

βeta: FAILED BOLT / BLOCK - A block containing the main bolt on one of the cables at the start of the postman’s walk near the top has failed today. It is still passable with care. Currently the bolt and block it is attached to is hanging against another cable.

βeta: Start section cut off, but passable with some gear, (slings or small rope advised) It is currently closed due to a large rockfall and some areas within the first 50 metres are without rungs, but it can still be climbed with some knowledge. A great experience! Take loads of water and go in in the morning when it is not too sunny, the VF is in shade early.
