Karlos 16 Jul, 2015 Lead O/S A good route up a great mountain. Pretty intimidating until you are on it. I led it in the full 5 pitches to maintain the atmosphere. P1 and the start of P2 contained the most technical parts, and P4 was the most exposed as you cross the slab. Actually lots on in-situ pegs and threads, and mostly large rock gear besides. Lots of scope for variation if busy, but not if there are lots of folk on their way down. Walk in and P1-3 in the shade (and chilly), but then in the hot sun all day. This was in mid July, and the heat was very draining. We left the hut at 6:30am and took our time, letting a guided group of 3 jump on P1 first and finally getting on it ourselves at 8:30am. No-one else on it all day (going up, maybe 5 groups heading down it later).

lanky and weak 19 Jun, 2015 AltLd O/S Belays are shiny and new, multiple abseil points to descend back down if there are several parties. Recommend early start to be on route before other parties, we started at 7:30 and did 2 pitches before anyone else turned up, made for a good morning. 50m ropes used. Gear wise, take decent rack of cams (mainly bigger sizes), 1 set of nuts and a couple of big hexes, used around 8 QD's on the longest pitch. Easy climbing and a good day, walk in from hut is around 45 mins, early start means you're in the shade for most of the walk in.

Valaisan 20 Jul, 2014 AltLd O/S Led 1 & 2, PK led 3, then: took a more vertical direct route from the belay at top of pitch 3 onwards to avoid dodgy belay bolts at top of original pitch 4 belay (as per advice from the Refuge). Made it a bit harder, possibly to V (with limited gear, one thread).

daWalt 20 Sep, 2013 AltLd O/S The guidebook topo seems to show a phantom stance out right on P4 before traversing back left to the abb station. P1&2 together = 50m abb, P3&4 together = FULL 60m abb. F 3.5 / Cam 3.0 worth carying, allong with a couple of Bigish hexes.

lisafer ?Sep, 2013 - Lovely, in an amazing situation. Wouldn't fancy it when its busy though. Its the main abseil descent for most of the mountain, and there are lots of loose stones on the upper ledges.
