A superb route, well iced but with some pesky fresh powder today. Another great day in the Northwest.

Awesome route. Suspect it’s easier than normal just now.

Wow, takes a little while to take it all in. Pitches 1, 2 and 4.

Only lead the easier 3rd pitch as I was too goosed from baghauling... great couple of leads from Stu. One of the best winter routes out there!

Good condition and ice where needed. The first pitch would be hard if totally dry. Also thought it was mostly a mixed route so didn't take many screws (two!!). Bit of a mistake for the second pitch.

Cracker! Very hooked/stepped out so felt pretty soft for the grade. First pitch was the technical crux for me (and I was on second for that!)

How good can it get!!! Euro style ice climbing stepping out onto the hanging curtain, on a blue sky, windless day.

grim walk in. Wet. crag super wintry but not huge amount of ice around. whitest have ever seen. as forecast very high westerlies. lots of spindrifts. route climbable but ice to be treated with care; not a lot of pro. Massive cornice outflanked on right via bold traverse on unconsolidated nd unprotected snow. Character building. Climbed with googles on!

P1 dry, yuk! Hard, scary (due to the crap rock) and unpleasant. Needs more ice / neve but not sure it gets it that often as it's under a big roof. P2 mega! Looks like a grade VIII but it's only VI and not that hard as plenty of bridged / wedged rests but commitment required and what a crazy position! Ice is thin but enough there, got two 10cm and one 13cm screws in. Finishing gully in pretty good nick. Divine!
