Mixture of great ice & cruddier snow ice. p4 we followed tracks up an open corner on a rather thin & hollow ice smear, with some hooks & foot placements on the bare rock on the left.

Decent conditions. Good/OK to climb on but screws not the best. Chimney had mushy ice but not an issue as did some mixed moves and there's good rock gear. Nic led the ice smear with a bit of moving together (had 50m ropes), I led chimney pitch to a good rock belay with 20-25m of moving together (so Nic was on belay by the time he got to the chimney). After that there are 3 or 4 pitches, which Nic led moving together as it's grade I/II ground. Good route on a perfect weather day - hardly any wind and sunny on the plateau above an inversion. Nice to do something not too hard (easy V on the day) and enjoyable as a change from mixed battles! Route took 3h 15mins and we weren't rushing but only did two proper pitches.

Great ice conditions! Felt easy and well protected. Fair amount of spindrift, which covers dips on the ice, too. Ice under such snow was often found to be well hacked. Martin lead P1(60m),3(chimney,40m),5(60m),7(35m), and I lead P2(40m),4(60m),6(50m). We took the direct finish (P6) on the corner (IV, 5 in today's conditions; very well protected with screws). Varied and excellent quality route!

In 6/7 pitches (can't remember). Led everything except the short pitch before the chimney and the pitch after the chimney. First pitch is the crux at the moment, sustained and steep in places, lack of runners for the lower slopes also adds to the excitement! Chimney was awkward and a bit strenuous. Whole climb was varied and interesting throughout...better than Point Five?
