Samseabass 14 Apr, 2018 AltLd O/S Ice fall (pitch 2) was thick and climeable but very soft. Took the left hand finish via an awkward pitch over a short but steep, crumbly ice step to gain the summit and avoid cornice. 60m ropes would make life easier.

masa-alpin 14 Apr, 2018 AltLd rpt Challenging conditions (too warm), and ice was pretty soft. But this route was possibly the only climbable ice route, and hopefully a good introduction to Sam and Adam.

PilarMartinez 31 Mar, 2018 AltLd Good Route, solid Ice but some covered on snow what it was hard work removing it along the way. The long traverse to the bottom of the route felt scary airy. We soloed the first pitch. The last one was very challenging trying to get through the cornice which it was fat and bloody scary. Jules made an amazing job leading through it.

JemG 1 Jan, 2016 AltLd β Relatively good ice. First grade 3 lead for me! exciting and terrifying stuff! Accidentally sent Jake up the final pitch of Indicator right wall, which he absolutely smashed. However, Rope ran out as he was going through the cornice at the top despite trying to notify him that rope was running short. After quickly deconstructing belay scarpered over to the first placement of gear and set up another belay. When I was finally ready to climb and had heard 'on belay, climb when ready' I started climbing to find that the rope was not been taken in. After shouting take until my voice ran horse, eventually I see the rope rising. When i got to the top I understood the problem! About 3 metres of rope was under snow, plenty of friction to make taking in that much harder. Moral, work on communication and read the guidebook.

R_W_M 28 Dec, 2014 Lead O/S Got in there just before everything got warm around new years. Route was lean enough to provide interest throughout, but mostly on decent ice, some of the less steep sections seemed a bit hollow. Broke trail from the approach to point 5/observatory ridge area onwards to indicator wall and then up the route. Beautiful atmospheric day - light cloud around the crag a lot of the time but occasionally affording glimpses down onto Tower Ridge and out over the Great Glen.

Simon Caldwell 10 Apr, 2010 AltLd I 'led' the initial snow plod. Then Carmen got the nice ice pitch (steeper and more exposed than it looked). I then led to the top, with an exciting dig to get through the cornice, my last runner about 40m below me! Not sure if this was the normal line, as I emerged about 40m left of the trig point.
