jdh90 4 May Lead O/S After long dry spell, back of chimney still a little damp and slimy. Jamming and old school moves in the mank avoided through use of small holds towards the face. Gear was a bit weird and high. Chris followed in big boots and rucksack, which I think could have made for a harrowing lead at diff. Entertaining.

climbingrev 17 Jul, 2017 AltLd O/S Led P1&2 (ie 30m to top of chimney, though stepped onto arête at 18m). Worth it for the sudden drop-off over the aux chveval move! Midges made us run pitches 3,4,5 quickly! (maybe used a single piece of gear between B2-3, and less on the next two :) Chimney is traditional as it says - back and footing a la mode! Martin Davies 7 Feb, 2017 Lead O/S What a horror fest. Waterfall pouring down it, but that didn't put me off. Loads of gear, gloves came off half way and battled up chimney with rucksack, approach shoes on soaking rock, swiping snow of ledges with frozen fingers. Hardest moves at top, which reading comments makes sense. Alice got a few metres up on second, decided not to finish. So abbed down off a spike, stripped, pull rope... oh oh. Prussik back up the rope (good practice), rigged second spike half way whilst pulling, abbed off that, still a nightmare to pull down, had to clip on and walk down rake to pull it. Everything soaked, but great fun and good practice! Finished off up the Rake. All in all a standard sandbag wet weather route in the Lakes I reckon.

citizen6ix 19 Jul, 2016 Solo rpt descended from the first ascent of this via jacks rake to get my rucksack, then ascended it with the rucksack on to see how that felt. some moves higher up much trickier with a heavy and bulky pack on but still comfortable to ascend.
