PeelDoor 7 Mar, 2018 Solo O/S Given the conditions, this felt pretty tough for a grade II. Good opportunities for protection at the beginning middle and end, however we just soloed it. A few good rest points and an easy descent to the far left of the exit. Not good for a rookie who gets calf burn easily.

MSharkOne 9 Dec, 2017 Lead Led this in three pitches. Although a winter grade II as per the guidebook, this was certainly of a grade III route given the conditions. Light dusting of dry, unbonded snow, turf mainly unfrozen in the sheltered areas (although turf exposed to the elements was sufficiently frozen about 300m), provided little to get the tools into, and most of the rock is just debris. First pitch through the cave provided a nice two move problem before gaining the turf up top. Second pitch culminated with a very awkward move, and use of the insitu 'tat' to gain the ledge. Third pitch and a run out right to finish. Advice would be to save this till the conditions are right if you're not a confident and competent climber.

010paw 20 Dec, 2014 AltLd O/S First winter route of the year bagged. Was a very good climb. Probably still a bit mild for it though. No frozen turf or snow! Was in good early season mixed condition with lots of gear available. But if you were only leading II you would have got shock I think, i felt like III in current condition. Calum completed first pitch and opted for the option through the hole and into the small cave. I enjoyed the tricky middle moves and took the right hand fork close to the top as it looked more of an interesting few moves to finish. All in a nice situation and good enough route!!

Novice 'threaded the needle' to get over the first boulder. I led the second boulder which was quite hard as well. The rest just powdery snow. Hard given the conditions (grade 2 probably). Would be good (but easy) if lots of consolidated snow. Had originally started up Maclays crack but bailed due to no frozen turf.
