Rockfax Description
The short, steep left arete of the cave from a notch is a powerful area classic. The start ranges from sitting to standing depending on beach level. Not as hard as it once was after storm damage. © Rockfax
UKC Logbook Description
Climb the left arĂȘte of the cave from a starting notch, using heel hooks and raw power. Depending on beach height this can be a standing or sitting start! One of the best. UPDATE: More storms early 2012 have knocked more foot holds of and part of the starting hold, could be 7c+ now

βeta: I think it is fair to say that Ache Ball doesn't exist anymore. There is nothing left of it. What we have left after a series of layers of rock being shed, is a completely different proposition. Sadly, you now have to have the blinkers on in order to not move into the top break immediately and no holds under the roof are used. Watch Gone West on YouTube to see what the problem once was. | βeta? | |
