This area incorporates the ridge and rocks running up the hill near the end of Llyn Peris to the big vegetated cliff above Cwm Eilir and is an old slate quarry.
Craig Y Ddol takes little drainage to be in optimum conditions however its shady nature means that it may be damp for some time after rain.
Excellent Crack climbing, all single pitch; use big Cams.
Descent from climbs is by the grassy slopes to the right.
Use the small layby just past the Vaynol Arms pub on the same side of the road.
2-5 minute walk along the wide hard standing footpath, past a small culvert at ground level and Craig Y Ddol appears on your right.
It is on page 342 of the Llanberis Topo (2009)
None - on open access land.
