Crag features
Pack Horse Quarry is a short gritstone quarry. Lovers of isolation, pastoral views and suspect rock need look no further. The climbing is a combination of low and medium grade cracks, with some eliminate face climbs slotted in between these.
The quarry is a sun trap on a sunny afternoon and has great views over the hills. However, drainage from above means that several days of dry weather are needed before the climbs come into condition. Be aware that climbs on the Upper Wall have a steep grassy finish, but good belays can be had on the fence running along the top of the quarry.
Approach notes
Park on the layby and walk up and right to reach the quarry in a few minutes.
| Been tehre twice in recent history and it is a nice little quarry, good belays stakes at the top (slightly hidden in the grass). Nice routes on now quite clean rock on the main face. More cleaning to be done to the left and right but worth a few hours of playing in an evening. hairynortherner - 03/Sep/08 |

| Parking on the main road is not advised I use the road to Delph or the road to the Castleshaw Centre. The belays have been improved (Three more stakes)and the routes have been cleared of grass. This is a great little crag well worth a visit for an afternoon or evening. crisp - 18/May/08 |
