Red Wharf Bay Bouldering © Sl@te Head
A limestone buttress and small cave on the beach near Trwyn Dwlban. The rock is rough and has a sandstone texture giving great friction, particularly on the mandolin wall.. Some sections are unusual in the fact that they have conglomerate chunks of white limestone imbedded in it.. Of local interest only, but worth a detour from the nearby bouldering on Benllech Beach.
The bouldering venue can be accessed most easily from the car park area by the ship inn at Red Wharf bay. Walk north along the beach for approximately 10 to 15mins until the area around the cave is reached. A similar approach time is available from the main car park at the beach from benllech and walking back towards red wharf bay.
No access issues but the venue is tidal
