Rocktype Limestone
Faces NE
Small quarried limestone walls and blocks. Decent rock with good landings onto pebbles or a rock platform which can be adequately protected with one or two pads. Some areas are tidal but can generally be accessed fairly quickly once it starts to drop. Others are mainly none tidal unless it's a very high spring tide. This is particularly so for the north Bychan blocks .
Far north bychan
Follow the directions to north bychan but turn left once onto the beach and walk 300m until a short steep wall appears with a rock slipway beneath it. Contains just the 4 problems but is not affected by pebble levels. The venue is tidal.
North bychan.
Park at treath bychan. Walk down the road towards the beach but turn off left and follow the coastal path sign (towards moelfre). Go up the hill into the next field, then go down to the left hand corner and onto the beach. Turn right and walk 500 meters to the boulders. CURRENT VERY HIGH PEBBLE LEVELS HAVE MADE THIS VENUE NOT WORTH A VISIT 18/09/24
central bychan
Approach from south bychan lay-by , follow the normal approach but when the house is reached, fork left into the field and follow the yellow markers down onto the beach. Walk left across the beach to reach the various areas of the central area.
south bychan.
when travelling from benllech, approximately 3/4 of a mile before the turning for Traeth Bychan, there is a long lay-by on the right ( in a dip in the road ) leading to a caravan site. Park up here and walk down the narrow road/ lane. When the house is reached, keep right and go through the gate by a little wood down to the slipway.
Tidal but generally sitting above normal tidal ranges. Pebble levels may be effected in storms as is normal for most coastal bouldering
