Gneiss slab vissible from the track up Glen Fionn Lighe above the ruined buildings at Uachan. From afar the white streak looks like a well cleaned crack cutting through the crag. The climbing is easy for the grade though commiting.
Cycle or walk 3km up Glen Fionn Lighe to Uachan. The slab is directly up the hill above (about 30mins)
Had to back off the approach yesterday. As soon as we left the main track our trousers were laden with ticks. We must have removed about 40 having been barely 20m into the bushwack up the hill. Is this valley particularly bad? liensiwel - 31/May/23 |

Attempted to get to the slab today. Within 20m of leaving the track to start bushwacking up the hillside, our trousers were covered in ticks, maybe 40 between the two of us. We retreated and spent the next half hour removing the little beasties. Not pleasant! I wonder if other 'road to Mallaig' crags are similarly afflicted? liensiwel - 30/May/23 |
