Climbs 5
Rocktype Limestone
Altitude 82m a.s.l
With the rock being limestone the nature of the crag can be a seepy one, though it suffers less than its friends across the bay in Silverdale. The ‘left buttress’ is especially quick drying beside the climbs either side of the crack. Having said this, spring, summer and autumn are the best seasons for the crag.
Heading down Lindale Hill, turn right off the A590 onto the B5271 before taking another right, heading towards Grange. Continue for 1 mile until you reach a layby (54.204901, -2.904435) with space for 2-3 vehicles on the left, park here. Now on foot, head into the woods on the obvious pathway leading up the hill, follow this over the fence via the stile and continue uphill where you’ll find a vehicle-worn track. From here head rightwards towards the fork in the path where you will see a wooden gate ~50m’s away, pass through this and look up to your left in the woods to see the ‘left buttress’, access directly. For the ‘right buttress’ continue along the path for a further 100m before heading into the woodland, alternatively walk parallel from ‘left buttress’ until you come across it. The other sections are as of yet undocumented despite a few lines having been done, maybe one day!
