For Caley Roadside, park with extreme care in the layby on the left hand side of the A660, heading down into Otley. Do not attempt to 3 point turn/U turn here as accidents have happened.
Alternative, considerably safer parking, and the better option for Caley Crag, is available in the Lower and Upper Shawfield car parks on East Chevin Road. A steady 10 minute walk leads to the Sugarloaf boulder.
First time back at Caley since 2008. Couldn't believe how sad it all looked with so many great problems regressing back to nature, Wish I had taken some gardening gear and a stiff brush. Looks like an organised clean up would help sort it out. Christheclimber - 22/Aug/14 |

caley is split into two main areas, the roadside boulders (the large boulders obviously visable from the road) and caley crag which is acessed via a 5 min walk up the path behind the gate. Both areas provide exelent bouldering with most of the routes being in the top area. It is an execlent place to climb although it can be green in winter and may take a few visits to find the best bits. Josh Horam - 27/Jul/05 |
