Rockfax, I think you've got the route description wrong. Gerboa Racer was well bolted when put up, I think it went at 7a+. It was never E4 5c. I know this because I belayed the first ascensionist on the first ascent, and watched them place the bolts. This route was put up as a safe route before the era of making enjoyable non lethal routes that people actually want to climb, it was ahead of its time really. I'm not sure how this has turned into E4 5C. It was safe and quite technical, not easy but bold as your grade suggests.
