iainballantyne 6 Mar AltLd O/S Very enjoyable with interest on each pitch. I slept in meaning we only left glasgow at 0730, oops! Cheeky abseil down NE buttress then Slingsby's just as it was getting dark. "Splendid!"

Robertgiddy 6 Mar AltLd O/S Seems everyone’s done this now and felt left out so was good to get up this! Great route in decent condition (hooked out which makes it easier), enough gear but not tonnes. It keeps going too, interesting all the way to the top. P1, 3, 5

masa-alpin u 27 Feb AltLd RP Fifth day of the International Meet 2020. Frano and I broke the trail to aim for Orion Direct, eventually caught up by teams behind us, who had been miles down us at first. Going became harder and harder. It took for Frano 15 min to go from the level of Minus One to about only the half point of Orion; we then abandoned the plan, switching to Minus One Gully, climbing after Tim and Emiliano from the Meet (and we were followed by Alex and Franz from the Meet). Frano lead P1, P2, P4, and I lead P3, P5, which lead to moving together to the top of Minus Two Gully to abseil off (after the team of Kyle, Thomas et al from the Meet, who had climbed up Minus Two). The pros were thin where they mattered. Lots of snowfall and the wind was hellish. I have never been so plastered with snow on my full-face balaclava. I had once tried this route a few years ago when the condition was even thinner, but fell off to snow and abandoned.

alexm198 27 Feb AltLd O/S As part of the great Minus Face gangbang of 2020. I mean, the international meet. We started late after trying to get up to Sickle and triggering a sizeable slide about 50m below Observatory Buttress. In 5 pitches, led all except 3. Good route, but honestly a little disappointing...

murray 25 Feb AltLd O/S Day three on the international meet. Just the first three pitches since Luca had placed a line of beautiful v-threads which were just too tempting! We also had a mis-translation which meant that Tom thought the route finished there when we abbed off. Feel pretty guilty treating such a rarely formed classic as a casual bit of ice cragging! I'll probably have to go back for the full line at some point..

Jasc 23 Feb AltLd Medium quality snow-ice, and sporadic deluges of spindrift-graupel. Pitch 2 a bit crumbly on the steep, and exciting narrow moves back over the overhang. 3 & 4 good value. 5 awkward move from top of LH slab back into gulley, 6 exposed in wind along top-out crest on to NE buttress, then 3-4 easy rope-lengths to summit.

CMoore 19 Mar, 2018 AltLd O/S Simply stunning. Wow. What a route. Up there as one of the best. Blue skys. No wind. In 3 long pitches and a top out scramble. Bottom groove had just enough ice on tbe lefr to pull through. The corner on p2 (p3/4 in guide) was amazing. About 4hrs

Captain Solo 29 Mar, 2013 AltLd One of the best climbs on the mountain. Crux was lean but hooked out so probably average for grade. The 2 pitches after crux were superb, steady climbing in a great setting. My first winter climb on the minus face and a brilliant one at that (it was the 29th by the way Gary!)

Hell yeah! Superb varied climbing with steep, technical bridging, plenty of ice pitches and atmospheric grooves at the top. Mega Classic, favourite route on the Ben especially with the obvious ne buttress finish. Climbing it with the legendary Bart was also a pleasure!
