Please refrain from climbing outside

Due to the ongoing spread of Covid-19, please abstain from climbing outside.

At UKC we are all climbers and we understand the strong urge to be outdoors as the weather is finally improving, but we feel this is no longer socially acceptable. You can read our statement here.

We have suspended the UKC Logbooks Top Ascents and Conditions pages and we will no longer accept ascents dated from 23rd March onwards. You can still upload your historic ascents.

alexm198 8 Mar, 2015 AltLd O/S In 5 pitches. Led odds. 1st pitch is in mixed condition, ice is complete after this, if a bit rotten in places. All in all a steady but serious climb, with gear prospects fairly slim given the quality of the ice and the widespread verglas.

masa-alpin 8 Mar, 2015 AltLd O/S Alex lead P1, 3, 5, and I did P2, 4 (and very easy P6). We climbed through spindrift all day, as it never ceased. Awful weather. But the ice conditions weren't too bad, though pretty sparsely protected. The temperature was above freezing with water dripping from ice when we started, but the freezing level got lowered below the CIC by the early evening.
