Covid-19

At UKC we are all climbers and we understand the strong urge to be outdoors as the weather is finally improving.

Please proceed with caution though. More details.

UKClimbing Team

80m, 2 pitches. pitch 1: (3) 50m Your choice of routes up the first 40/50 metres of the crag, any grade from tech 2/3 up. Belay on the sloping ledge, or from the ledge at the base of the groove.
pitch 2: (6) 30m Head up the groove past a tricky move to a ledge, then up the slab and excellent crack to the right for a technical finish! Can also finish out left, but its not as good.

clams 20 Jan, 2018 Lead P2 only - really good! Comedy of errors. Forgot my harness and then dropped an axe half-way up groove. Lowered to collect then finished. Lots of digging and scraping required for gear

jimorothy 19 Jan, 2015 2nd Ian led whole thing. Unlike that disputed photo here, was actually in very good winter conditions. Enjoyed. Found this quite easy though (good gear for lead too), a surprise/relief - probably my sort of thing, mind - I do like to get involved.

Ragingpossum 26 Jan, 2013 2nd O/S First pitch was trivial with lots of digging through powder. The second pitch felt very hard and pumping due to poor feet. An impressive lead.

jacobjlloyd 5 Dec, 2010 Lead O/S First real experience with winter climbing, and it has me hooked! A very memorable route, with excellent solid engaging climbing. Safe as it comes and delightfully technical with loads of footledges/back and footing stances to rest in. No reason not to get on it! Soloed up to it direct. Didn't go the easiest way - in fact my first pitch option was harder than the actual route!!
