Warm up route at Carlin Tooth © eaf4
A number of sandstone boulders and small buttresses spread out underneath the Carlin Tooth, above Wauchope Forest.
Beautiful outlook over the Borders!
A few boulder descriptions added which we did spring 2021. Couldn't find any other information online or in the Northumberland guide book. Would be interesting to hear from anyone that has been before! There's quite a bit of rock up there.
A bit of a trek with pads, now that the forestry gate has been locked. Park at Note o' the gate. Take left branch and follow forest track past several turn offs and 2 quarries. Eventually an opening in the trees appears with an old fence, follow this to the top. Wellies useful unless in drought. (30 minutes once off the forest road)
Although it feels like the county, it is in Scotland, so no access issues.
