Crag features

Solid rock with good flat landings onto a sandy beach. It is tidal but can be climbed on as soon as the water begins to receed after high tide. It is open to the sun throughout the day as it runs from East to West. There are some areas not subject to the tide if you arrive early, or if you'd rather have a coffee, then the town centre is only a 5 minute drive away. It benefits from having good strong lines in the lower grades, easy descents, and a number of excellent problems in the font 6 to 7 range. Its an ideal venue whether you're with the family or just escaping from the mountains and fancy a play by the seaside. The initial wave of exploration was by Ian Lloyd Jones and Phil Targett in 2016 with subsequent additions by other local activists in the intervening years. Recommended climbs include cruise the ooze ( both sit and stand version's ) Ian's arĂȘte,and Ian's slab, Pwllheli punter, king canutes escape route, The wonderful world of mr gimblet and sand country almanac.

Previously known as Gimblet Rock Boulders.

Interesting little place. We turned up just after high tide, so some lines were still inaccessible and others wet, but there was enough to do. I *believe* that lines are described right to left looking out to sea. Hope that's correct!

Friendly, fun, seaside bouldering. Many lines have low cruxes above good landings, then ease as get higher. Right hand end of Mr Gimblet traverse was greasy and probably does not get much sun, most the rest of the routes look very quick drying.
