βeta: The anchor was just two Petzl bolts at the top with a mallion attached to a large carabiner in one of the bolts. The carabiner had a big dip from where it had been really worn down by ropes. Felt really sketch lowering off from the singular carabiner, so I used a spare heavy duty mallion I had on hand and attached it to the left petzl bolt, and then looked at the mallion attached to the right bolt and it looked pretty sturdy. I threaded through both mallions and lowered off through them. I have left my mallion up there for others to use, I suggest threading through both mallions and using them to lower off, rather than the old worn carabiner. | βeta? | |
