Please refrain from climbing outside

Due to the ongoing spread of Covid-19, please abstain from climbing outside.

At UKC we are all climbers and we understand the strong urge to be outdoors as the weather is finally improving, but we feel this is no longer socially acceptable. You can read our statement here.

We have suspended the UKC Logbooks Top Ascents and Conditions pages and we will no longer accept ascents dated from 23rd March onwards. You can still upload your historic ascents.

Rockfax Description
Excellent climbing on good rock; a quality route. Climb the groove via long pulls to the small roof. Move up left and traverse left to enter a scoop a little nervously. From the break, swing right and up with difficulty to gain the finishing scoop and lower-off. A direct link between the two roofs is hard 7b and reachy. © Rockfax

βeta: The top-out now requires passing a dead tree which is no longer holding loads of loose blocks together. All in all the route is in need of a bloody good spring clean!

Rob Greenwood - UKClimbing 30 Jun, 2018 Lead O/S Been meaning to do this for years, but for some reason never got round to it. If this was on the Cornice it'd be the best 7a there by some distance. As it happens it isn't, so it sits in obscurity at Chee Tor. Still, for those that make the journey it won't disappoint.

GeneralFifi 15 May, 2016 Lead dog Don't be fooled by the three stars in the guidebook. This climb is only good for lichen lovers who enjoy slipping off polished holds rather than actual climbing. This might have been a good climb when it was first opened and when it was properly clean but its not worth crossing the river now.
