βeta: If the last person in a party is intending to second the top pitch they can retrieve the gear on the way up. In this case everyone gets a more comfortable lower off if the top belay of ER is used as a runner, the leaders continue to the top belay of MBR and everyone lowers down the upper part of that route. | βeta? | |
