Adders are frequently seen around Curbar. They are often very well camoflaged so it's worth keeping an eye out when moving into new areas, picking up kit etc as a bite, although not life threatening to most healthy adults can still be nasty.
Ticks are abundant due to a large population of red deer. take care, particularly if passing through bracken below the crag.

The arete is climbed 'au cheval' to start then place a runner Insanity as high as you can reach. Swing round onto the right side of the arete and go! © Rockfax
UKC Logbook Description
The arête between Insanity and Committed. Start up the arête climbing au cheval for a few meters. Place a side runner in Insanity as high as you can reach (the Insanity crack is in reach for the start). As soon as possible, swing round onto the right side of the arête (crux) and then continue up. A poor solution to a nice line.
